Over the next week, Bahrain Victorious will take on the spring Classics in Belgium, starting with Classic Brugge-De Panne today.
The 212.9km pan flat parcour kicks off proceedings in Belgium, where typically sprinters battle it out in the final. Unlike the other upcoming classics, the real challenge will be the potential for crosswinds rather than cobbled sectors.
Sports director Enrico Poitschke is hopeful Bauhaus can challenge: “We will try to fight for the victory in De Panne with Phil Bauhaus, he’s a fast guy, and he has shown good shape in the last weeks, and the team we have around him there is perfect for a flat sprint classic. We need to be wary of the wind conditions for a possible split, but we are prepared in that case and hoping we can fight for the victory.”
Bauhaus will be supported by Matevz Govekar, Kamil Gradek, Filip Maciejuk, Jonathan Milan, Dusan Rajovic, and Cameron Scott.
