Co-operation between Bahrain and Pakistan was highlighted during an international textile expo in the Pakistani city of Lahore last month. Organised by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Texpo 2019 was attended by a Bahraini delegation that included six members from Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society: Fawzia Abdulkarim, Farida Bader, Shereen Shaker, Asya Al Bastaki, Amal Al Ramadan and Nareman Shukrallah. They represented textile, carpets, hotel supplies, event management and fashion design sectors of Bahrain. The visit was co-ordinated by the commercial section of the Pakistani Embassy. The Bahraini delegation was the second largest delegation after China at this event. Pakistan’s Commerce, Textile, Industry, Production and Investment Minister Abdul Razak Dawood met the delegation to discuss Bahrain-Pakistan economic ties. The delegates attended a gala dinner hosted by Pakistani President Arif Alvi at Governor House, Lahore.
