Egyptian comedian Hassan Hosny dies at 88


Renowned Egyptian comedian Hassan Hosny, 88, died of a heart attack in Cairo today.

Actor Azouz Adel, who is a member of the board of directors of Egypt's Representative Professions Syndicate, confirmed the news on social media.

The veteran actor, who was born in Cairo in 1931, had an illustrious career which spanned over more than 50 years.

His filmography includes roles in 1996's Nasser 56, 2000's El Nazer, 2013's El Ashash and 2018's El Badla.

Tributes from celebrities and fans have started pouring in on social media.
