Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sandeep Nahar, who starred alongside Sushant Singh Rajput in the film 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story', allegedly took his own life yesterday.
He was found unconscious at his flat in suburban Goregaon, Mumbai after going live on Facebook where he posted a 'suicide note' in which he blamed his wife and also mentioned “politics” he faced in Bollywood, police said.
In his 'suicide note' and a nine-minute video in Hindi posted just hours earlier, the actor highlighted that he was “frustrated” with constant fights with his wife and was being harassed and blackmailed by her and his mother-in-law.
He was discovered by his wife Kanchan Sharma who took him to SVR Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
“I would’ve died by suicide a long time ago but I chose to give myself the time and hope that things would get better, but they didn’t. I now have nowhere to go. I don’t know what awaits me after I take this step, but I’ve been through hell in this life," he said in his video.
“I have only one request, after I am gone, please don’t say anything to Kanchan (his wife) but do get her treated."
Police presume the video was made around three hours before his death and are awaiting postmortem report to understand the cause and nature of death.
"We have registered ADR in the matter. He was found hanging from the ceiling fan with the help of a bedsheet. His wife informed the Goregaon Police Station about Sandeep's death. Goregaon Police is now investigating the matter," Mumbai Police Zone 11 deputy commissioner of police Vishal Thakur said.
