MANAMA: Alba, the world’s largest aluminium smelter ex-China, has bagged the International Safety Award from the British Safety Council in recognition of its commitment to manage the risk of workplace injury and ill health during the 2020 calendar year.
Alba chief executive Ali Al Baqali said: “We are pleased to be recognised again by the British Safety Council which is a vote of confidence that we are what we repeatedly do – safety excellence is not an act but a lifelong habit.”
British Safety Council recognises organisations that have demonstrated to the satisfaction of the scheme’s independent judges their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health as well as mental health during the previous calendar year.
